Spring is here, and at House of Scent, we’re buzzing with excitement - not just about all the fresh and floral fragrance oils filling our shelves, but also about a special little surprise we’re adding to your orders this season. We’re giving away free packs of wildflower seeds with every order (until we run out!) because, well, we love nature, we love giving back, and we love making the world a little bit more beautiful - one flower at a time!

So, why wildflower seeds? Let’s dig in! (pun intended!)

A Love for Nature and All Its Little Creatures

At House of Scent, we’re all about kindness to animals, and being eco-conscious in everything we do. In fact, two of us are vegan, and we’re all passionate about doing our bit for the planet. Whether it’s reducing waste, trying to make more ethical choices, or simply admiring the bees bumbling around our gardens, we believe that every little action counts.

That’s why we’re encouraging you to spread some love - literally - by planting wildflower seeds in your garden, in pots with your kids or grandkids, or even scattering them in your local area like we do. We want to see bursts of colour popping up everywhere, creating mini havens for our fuzzy and fluttery friends! 🐛 🦋

Wildflowers: The Unsung Heroes of the Natural World

You might be wondering, “Why wildflowers? Why not just any old seeds?” Well, wildflowers are absolute champions when it comes to supporting the environment. Here’s why they deserve a little extra love:

  • They Feed the Bees: Pollinators like bees and butterflies depend on wildflowers for nectar and pollen. With bee populations declining at an alarming rate, planting wildflowers is a small but meaningful way to support them.

  • They Help the Soil: Wildflowers improve soil health by reducing erosion and adding essential nutrients back into the earth.

  • They Support Biodiversity: A patch of wildflowers creates a tiny ecosystem, attracting a variety of insects, birds, and small mammals. More flowers = more life!

  • They’re Low-Maintenance Beauties: Unlike many garden plants, wildflowers thrive with very little effort. Scatter them, water them a little, and let nature do the rest!

A Small Gesture with a Big Heart

We know that sending out little packs of wildflower seeds isn’t going to save the planet overnight. But we also believe that change happens in tiny steps, and even the smallest acts of kindness can ripple out into something bigger.

If our seeds lead to just one extra bee finding food, one child discovering the magic of gardening, or one neglected patch of land bursting into colour, then it’s all worth it. 💖

How You Can Join in the Fun

Getting involved couldn’t be easier! When you place an order with us this spring, you’ll find a little pack (or two!) of wildflower seeds tucked inside. Once you’ve got your seeds, here are some fun ways to put them to use:

1. Plant Them in Your Garden

If you have a garden, find a sunny spot, sprinkle your seeds, give them a little water, and let nature work its magic. Before you know it, you’ll have a gorgeous mini-meadow attracting all sorts of lovely creatures. 💚

2. Get the Kids (or Grandkids) Involved

Wildflower planting is a fantastic activity for children! Not only is it fun, but it also teaches them about nature, pollination, and the importance of looking after the planet. Plus, they’ll love watching their flowers grow and spotting the first visiting bees and butterflies. 👪

3. Brighten Up Your Local Area

We’re big fans of ‘Guerilla-gardening’ - a fancy way of saying we like to sprinkle wildflower seeds in forgotten spaces around our neighbourhood. We've thrown a couple of packs on grass around the House of Scent HQ and our industrial estate is soon going to be bursting with colour! 🌼 🌺

Whether it’s a dull roadside verge, an unloved patch of soil in the park, or even the cracks between paving stones, scattering a few seeds can bring unexpected bursts of beauty and life.

Just be mindful of where you plant them - public spaces are usually fair game, but private gardens might not be too happy about unexpected floral takeovers!

4. Create a Pollinator-Friendly Balcony

No garden? No problem! Wildflowers grow beautifully in pots and window boxes, making them perfect for brightening up your balcony or doorstep. A tiny patch of colour can still make a big difference for local bees, butterflies and ladybirds. 🐞

Share the Blooming Love!

We’d absolutely love to see where your wildflowers end up! If you plant them, snap a picture and tag us on social media. Whether it’s a beautifully bloomed garden, a colourful pot on your balcony, or a sneaky little flower patch in a forgotten corner of your village, town or city, we want to celebrate the joy of growing together. 🌸

Why We Love Doing This

At House of Scent, fragrance is our passion, but so is making a positive impact. The scents we create are inspired by nature, and we want to give back to the world that provides us with so many beautiful aromas.

From the delicate scent of fresh florals to the earthy aroma of a rain-kissed meadow, nature gives us so much joy - so it only makes sense to return the favour.

We’re incredibly grateful for our customers and the community we’ve built, and this is just our little way of saying thank you. By planting these seeds, you’re not just growing flowers - you’re helping to create habitats, support pollinators, and add a little more beauty to the world we live in. ✨

Get Your Seeds Before They’re Gone!

We’ve only got a limited number of seed packs to give away, so make sure you place your order promptly before they’re all gone!

Every order placed this spring will include a free pack - at no extra cost, just extra love from us to you (and to the bees!). 🐝

Let’s make this spring one to remember. Let’s plant flowers, spread joy, and do our little bit for the planet. Because at the end of the day, it’s the small things that make the biggest difference!

Happy planting!

Love,
The House of Scent Team 🌿💛
